A Funny Surprise

I find myself constantly amazed by what Wesley can do. I have been off for spring break and fighting a mild case of tonsillitis...so I've been very tired and Wesley picks this week to have problems sleeping. So today I get the bright idea to put some couch cushions on the floor and just try to rest while Wesley is wreaking havoc on the living room. I only half sleep, which is better than nothing, and I hear Wesley start to whimper. I look up and he has crawled up onto the cushionless couch to play and now can't figure out how to get down. He doesn't actually cry so I let him try to figure it out for himself. I don't know how much later, but I wake myself up because it's too quiet, I listen intently and all I hear is the sound of Wesley's hand on the couch..so I make myself open my eyes to see what up and this is what I see:

At first I just thought he might be getting tired until I realized he was actually asleep and what had woken me up was the sound of him almost falling over, though luckily he caught himself. So like the wonderful mom I am, I grabbed my camera to get some pictures before I moved him to safer territory :).

Time Flies!

I can't believe it's already April...I have been neglecting this site but I'm on spring break right now and have a ton of pictures to post! Wesley had his first birthday, we had a big party and he had a blast...he even threw up his cake! At his last check up he weighed in at 21 lbs and measured 29 inches. He seems to be staying steady in the 25th percentile. His growth slowed down around 9 months and we tried and tried to get him back on track but his doctor just now thinks that he hit his "genetic potential". He is getting in to everything, not walking yet but that does not stop him! He's also got a mouth full of teeth, and a horrible drool rash. He has all 8 incisors and 4 premolars, he's been getting them 2 at a time :(. In other news, he just had his 4th ear infection in the last 6 months so next week he will be getting tubes put in his ears to hopefully fix the problem. I'm a bit nervous since he will be put under, I have to keep telling myself it's a routine procedure!

Picture time, in random order:

First birthday cake...

Chillin with Aunt Becca:

Attacking Isaac, who is much bigger and can run away... :)

He loves crawling under things...

I don't even know...He likes to open his mouth really wide and yell "ahhh"...this time he also had food in his mouth (and he did it like 5 times...)
